When the devastating effects of war, floods, and other disasters are brought to light, no one remains unaffected. Anthony describes the profound impact these scenes have on him every time he watches the news: families torn apart, loved ones missing, and entire communities displaced in an instant. His heart aches for those enduring such unimaginable hardships.
Yet, amidst the heartbreak, he finds hope. It warms him to see countless individuals stepping up—volunteers and organizations offering food, shelter, clothing, and comfort to those in need. However, Anthony noticed that despite the goodwill, coordinating support and establishing communication between rescuers and victims is often a significant challenge, especially in the chaos of sudden crises. Effective aid requires a level of organization that can be difficult to achieve in such situations.
As a Belgian entrepreneur and CEO of Codeoly, a software development company in India, Anthony felt compelled to act. Together with his team, under the leadership of their Tech Director Sumangal, they set out to make a difference by developing Reconnec-t, a free platform designed specifically to streamline rescue efforts.
Reconnec-t aims to facilitate effective coordination, enabling rescuers to respond faster, reunite families, and ultimately save lives in times of crisis.
If all the investments and efforts would only help one family reunite or ease one human’s
pain, it will have been worth it!
“If you want happiness for an hour - take a nap.
If you want happiness for a day - go fishing.
If you want happiness for a year - inherit a fortune.
If you want happiness for a lifetime - help someone else.”
In danger status is when a user experiences a situation that he deems dangerous. For instance a user that is in a war zone or someone that’s unable to get up after he or she fell. Need help status is when a user is in a situation where they need help. For instance someone that is looking for assistance in any way, be it someone that has Covid and needs somebody to get them groceries or even someone fleeing a war zone in need of food and shelter. In their public info they can specify what kind of help they are looking for.
The list is endless, be it helping someone getting home, having furniture to give away to people needing it, giving someone a place to stay, giving them a ride to where they need to go end so on.
We do an immediate check when a new user or organisation registers, we also have a ‘report this user’ option when a user/organisation would provide a service that isn’t correct once active. Then we vet the complaint(s) and act accordingly, be it contacting that organisation to fix the problem or deactivating when necessary.
For the moment only the ‘Report this user’ option and the preliminary check upon activation of an account.
Wherever needed, we will add countries accordingly.
No but we would love to once we are launching the app to the public.
